The Internet is a perfect medium for finding out facts. wikipedia is the first encyclopedia whose content is edited and managed by the users. According to Jimmy Wales who is wikipedia's co-founder it is "an effort to create and distribute a multilingual free encyclopedia of the highest possible quality to every single person on the planet in their own language"
In my opinion wikipedia is one of the greatest examples of community generated content.
